I'll admit, I dig it a lot and have put serious hours last June. The setting and characters are pretty rad too, sort of a mix between Saturday morning cartoons and European comic books with a dash of punk rock/heavy metal attitude to boot. It's a bit like the ill-fated but excellent Evolve, but with more story and cutscenes directly woven between each match. When Spacelords goes live tonight, it will continue the story with "Council Apocalypse" in which the Raiders seek out Valeria Robespierre, "a smart, spunky and cruel-ass bitch with no humanity in her cold, bionic heart" and convert her to their cause. Each episode of Spacelords is an intense adventure made up of four challenging missions that can be played cooperatively or as an Antagonist attempting to thwart the Raiders. Álvarez said, "The removal of any payment barriers will build our devoted community further," and that re-branding is "the best way to communicate to players." That means making all content free-to-play. In effect, MercurySteam wants to reformat the game into an experience players are more accustomed to. Our vision is to see our game enjoyed by millions of users for years to come and putting all of the game’s rich content into their hands for free is the way to realize it." Game director Enric Álvarez said, “When we launched Raiders September last year, we hoped its low price point would open it up to a large number of users, but it didn’t work as we planned. Unfortunately, the limitations of taxonomy on Steam, the PlayStation Store and Xbox Games Store meant it was categorized as a "free-to-play" title, leading to many players expressing ire and confusion about this business model. Prologue missions were made available for everyone but chunks of levels and story-based missions are sold as campaign episodes. Launched in late 2017, Raiders of the Broken Planet was presented as a free-to-try experience. I think it works well with how tanky she is being 5th Council.Developer MercurySteam is relaunching its 4v1 shooter-adventure game Raiders of the Broken Planet as Spacelords today. I don't really have an opinion on which faction card to pick, but I personally run the card that lets you gain max HP as you stay alive longer. Her main function is dispatching large groups of grunts and controling the AI spawn, not really killing bosses. So against fast moving targets like Aneska or beholders, or even the tentacle dogs on enemy within, she's not the best choice. Remember at low ranks, her gun itself does very low damage, and the bulk of her damage comes from detonating her orbs, which is rather tricky to pull off at times. I would say starting out, she's good on missions where you don't have to constantly move, and rather progress the level at a steady place and/or hold down important choke points/objectives.Īn example would be Short Fused, which is great when you set up her portal/bridge that can hit those large wardog spawns, as well as the tank gunners. Also, both Little Girl and Earthing's regular fire shoot 3 laser shots at once (Little Girl fires 3 horizontal lasers Earthing fires 3 vertical lasers), but Little Girls' shot can only hit a single target once per shot (so even if you aim at say Marmalade's huge pimple, only 1 shot counts), while Earthing's 3 shots all count separately. On the other hand her Earthing has more situational use when it comes to orb burst, as the explosion does a bit less damage and only hits the ground (so you can't use it to blow up say a beholder), but you can detonate the orb multiple times before it disappears. You can absolutely down a player or an elite with a single orb burst if you aim right. Her default little girl is by far the most versatile when it comes to burst damage. Pretty good at destroying large groups of wardogs and clearing the field of those annoying minelayers you see on several council missions. I've yet to try the Whip, which is kind of like a Kuzman you can throw at the enemies. Your portal/bridge's cooldown can also be decreased by you shooting her gun directly at the enemy (as opposed to at the orb to trigger an explosion). You also have some other good options like the card that lets you reset your portal/bridge's cooldown when you kill an enemy. I like to run her healing card zero point energy which gives a set amount of hp per second to all allies within a fix distance from her portal/bridge. Depends on your playstyle, team composition and which mission you're playing.
